Functional Training for a Modern World

In 1993, the Ultimate Fighting Championships showed us that no single martial art contains the solution to every possible self-defense situation.  As martial arts instructors, inevitably, one of the most frequent questions we hear is, "What style do you teach?".  Let's keep this simple: at Wisdom Way Martial Arts, we practice the art of "fighting".  If a technique works in a given self-defense situation, we will use it, regardless of origin.  We use a Mixed Martial Arts approach to self-defense, studying and utilizing techniques from a variety of martial arts disciplines so that we can competently defend ourselves from any of the three major fighting ranges: kickboxing range, trapboxing range, and grappling range.  Quite frankly, if you wish to learn how to fight realistically, Wisdom Way Martial Arts is a great place to start!

What are some of the other benefits of our Adult Mixed Martial Arts Program?
  • Individual Attention - We don't need to write your name on your uniform.  Thanks to our manageable size and attention to detail, we know all of our students by name.  You will work directly with the same instructors, including the chief instructor, from your first day of class.  In some larger studios, you may never meet the head instructor until you make black belt.  Not at Wisdom Way Martial Arts.  By working with the same instructors from white belt to black belt, you will receive continuity of training.
  • Smaller Classes - We try to maintain class sizes of 20 students or less.  A smaller class provides less crowding, less chance of injury, and less chance of distraction from other students.  More importantly, a smaller class setting ensures that you will receive more of the instructor's time and attention.
  • Camaraderie - It's the students that keep people coming back to martial arts classes.  Since we work out with the same people every day, we become training partners and friends.  Friends will always give you their best so that both of you will achieve greatness!
  • Less Expensive - Because we are a smaller studio, we do not have the burden of high overhead expenses.  Those savings are passed directly to our students who pay less tuition than they would at many larger studios, while receiving the benefits of more individualized attention!  Additionally, we do not require students to sign up for long-term contracts.  We are parents, too, and realize that interests change, and would not want to be locked into a long-term contract ourselves.  Of course, we still offer incentives for students who sign up for multiple months, but that choice is left entirely up to you!

We are certain you will enjoy your experience with Wisdom Way Martial Arts.  Why don't you pick up the phone and call us today to schedule your free introductory lesson?
